For the 2021 D&AD New Blood Awards, Spotify challenged entrants to create a new in-app feature to encourage its users to share experiences.
Focusing on the difficulty around algorithms and curating your music library, I created Spotify Zone: and in-app feature allowing users to toggle into ‘zones’ or music genres to be shown and recommended music exclusively within this zone.
The zones were designed to cover a breadth of moods, scenarios and genres, with the ability to share listening with friends and escape into a world of music accommodated to the genre of their choosing.
The final outcomes included wireframe designs of the UI/UX, a working prototype to demonstrate the feature, and a promotional video to market the product.
